Former Labour Party governorship candidate in Lagos State Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour has launched a new mobile application, “Our Lagos,” designed to provide economic opportunities and policy resources to residents, fulfilling his commitment to serve Lagosians beyond the 2023 elections.
Speaking at the app’s unveiling, Rhodes-Vivour described the initiative as a tribute to the overwhelming support he received during his campaign.
“This is a practical tool to empower the people who believe in a better Lagos,” he said, emphasizing his vision of leadership rooted in “service, accountability, and tangible impact.”
The platform offers three major components aimed at fostering economic growth and civic engagement:
1. Grant Programs – Small businesses and entrepreneurs can access funding opportunities to scale their ventures.
2. Skill Development Courses – Tailored training programs aligned with current labor market demands to enhance employability.
3. Job Portal – A recruitment hub connecting users with employment opportunities through partnerships with private sector firms.
Additionally, the app includes a policy discussion section where Lagosians can explore Rhodes-Vivour’s proposals for critical sectors such as infrastructure, healthcare, education, and economic development.
The former governorship candidate reiterated his dedication to advocating for Lagosians, stating that the app reflects his belief in governance that prioritizes people-centered solutions. “Leadership is not just about elections; it’s about sustained service,” he said. “This platform ensures that the voices and needs of Lagosians remain at the forefront of development discussions.”
