Lagos State governor, Babaijde Sanwo-Olu, has gone to Ikorodu Division to represent the All Progressives Congress at a rally.
A sizable group of party members and adherents met to receive him.
He discussed the successful implementation of his THEMES agenda, citing numerous infrastructure projects carried out for the benefit of the populace.
The governor built Ogolonto/Ipakodo and Itamaga/Ijede Roads, upgraded General Hospital facilities, lowered tertiary student tuition rates, and improved water transportation in the region.
When the project is completed, Ikorodu is anticipated to gain from the Fourth Mainland Bridge.
Sanwo-Olu implored the electorate to choose him again so that the Center of Excellence’s progressive beats could continue, exuding confidence in his ability to live up to expectations.
The governor, who was joined by his Deputy, Governor Obafemi Hamzat, advised Lagosians to be ready to cast their largest possible number of votes for Asiwaju Bola Tinubu.
The candidate asked potential voters to obtain their Permanent Voter Cards to cast their votes for him during the campaign, which was held on the wide grounds of the famed Ikorodu Town Hall.
Additionally, he advised them to support Senator Tokunbo Abiru for Senate, Jimi Benson for the House of Representatives, and Gbolahan Ogunleye for the House of Assembly.
Pastor Cornelius Ojelabi, the state party chairman, Party Secretary Sunmi Odesanya, council chairmen Sesan Daini and Motunrayo Alogba, as well as other local party leaders, were also present at the gathering.
From the moment the sun rose, party members, supporters, and locals singing and dancing arrived from Ikorodu, Ipakodo, Igbogbo-Bayeku, Odogunyan, Ibeshe, Ijede, and Imota.
The President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari, (ret.d), will be in Lagos in January to commission other projects, including landmark ones like the Lekki Deep Seaport, according to Sanwo-Olu.
Sanwo-Olu urged locals to cast their ballots for the APC candidates, claiming that his administration has kept its commitments made to Lagosians.
He said: “It is an honour that you have turned out in your numbers to honour all our candidates at all levels in Lagos East.
“We also want you to come out in your numbers and vote and on February 25, our leader, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, will be declared the winner of the presidential election.
“We are very proud to say that we have been able to fulfil our campaign promises for Lagos East with many signature projects. In January, President Muhammadu Buhari will come to Lagos to commission the Lekki Deep Sea Port and all our signature projects.
“Whatever we are doing here would be a waste if you don’t come out to vote. We have to go house to house and convince our people to come. You must get your PVCs because, without that, you can’t vote.”
The spokesperson for Lagos APC, Seye Oladejo, stated that stalwarts were not in Ikorodu to campaign but rather to give an account of the administration’s management in Lagos State and the fulfilment of the THEMES agenda of the governor.
