The Coalition of Pro-Democracy Groups for a Better Nigeria has expressed disapproval of the invasion of the Oyo Secretariat by Yoruba Nation agitators.
The coalition opined that a thorough investigation of the entire episode would unravel the mystery behind it.
This was made known by the coalition’s National Coordinator, Comr. Awa Bamiji.
He sought the strengthening of the security network around state and federal government secretariats and government houses, according to The Nation.
The coalition praised the combined team of the Nigerian Army, Nigerian Police, Civil Defence, and Amotekun Corps who engaged the armed agitators in exchange before they were incapacitated.
“We call on all patriotic citizens and residents of Nigeria to be law-abiding and keep faith with democracy in this challenging period.
“It’s on record that this group frowned upon and publicly condemned the Yoruba Nation advocacy since its emergence because we believe strongly in the sovereignty of Nigeria, especially now that various bold steps are being taken daily by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to steer the ship of this nation towards economic recovery,” the statement reads.
