Four days to the governorship and State House of Assembly election, some gunmen have reportedly abducted the Accord Party candidate for the Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni sin Local Government Area Constituency 2 in the Rivers State House of Assembly, Chukwudi Ogbonna.
It was gathered that Ogbonna was abducted on Monday night as he drove along Rumuigbo, near Port Harcourt, and gunmen forced him to stop and whisked him away with his car.
The PUNCH reported that Ogbonna’s cousin, Ifeaka Nwakiri, confirmed the incident on Tuesday morning.
He said, “They took him with his Mercedes car. We have reported the matter at the Kala Police station.”
While the location of where he was taken to is yet unknown, the Rivers State Police Command had not issued a statement on the matter as at the time of filing this report.
