Former presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Atiku Abubakar, has expressed his sympathy for President Bola Tinubu after a viral video showed the Nigerian President tripping and falling while boarding a parade vehicle during the June 12 Democracy Day celebration in Abuja.
In a post on his official X handle, Atiku wrote, “I sincerely sympathize with President Bola Tinubu, @officialABAT, over this unfortunate incident as he was set to review the parade on Democracy Day. I do hope that all is well with him.”
The incident, which occurred on June 12, 2024, sparked mixed reactions on social media, with some finding humor and others expressing concern.
However, Presidential media aide Dada Olusegun downplayed the incident, describing it as a “mild misstep” and stating that the President quickly regained his balance and continued with the event’s proceedings without further incident.
