The Governor of Osun State, Ademola Adeleke, has affirmed that he is resolute on transforming public transportation and ridding the motor parks in the state of violence.
According to a statement by the spokesperson for the governor, Olawale Rasheed, on Wednesday, Adeleke said this during the inauguration of a Transportation committee, noting his administration’s determination to sanitise motor parks across the state.
Also at the event, the governor announced his vision of a new transport model for the state.
The governor’s vision is to see a modern transport system and more appealing environment for investments.
The statement read in part, “Our administration is determined to sanitise motor parks across the state. We can no longer allow our parks to be breeding ground for thuggery and lawlessness.
“It is time to secure our state by making park environment safe, productive and enjoyable. Our goal is to develop modern transport terminals.
“The mandate of your committee therefore includes studying and reviewing the current park system; propose new park management model; and develop an implementation plan.”
