Delta State Governor has said he would work with presidential candidate of Peoples Democratic Party, Atiku Abubakar, to rebuild Nigeria as he shut down schools on Monday to accommodate the presidential campaign rally on Tuesday.
The management of various schools has told their students not to come to school on Tuesday to host the presidential candidate of the PDP in Asaba, according to The Punch.
The State Commissioner for Secondary Education, Rose Ezewu was said to have declined comment when contacted.
The venue of the campaign, Stephen Keshi Stadium and just constructed Koka-flyover haves been give a facelift with the presence of security operatives as the presidential campaign rally kicks off.
While explaining that people are tired of President Buhar-led adminstation, the vice presidential candidate of PDP, and the Governor of Delta State, Ifeanyi Okowa said PDP would provide Nigerians with all inclusive and purposeful leadership that with the aspirations of the citizens.
He stated, “The party is determined to rescue the nation and deliver good governance to the people. The party’s presidential candidate, Atiku knows the path to Nigeria’s recovery and I will work with him and other citizens to recover, reset and rebuild the country.
“Nigerians are already tired of the APC-led government and we are very much aware of what the situation is in this country.”
Okowa who said he was satisfied with the preparation for the rally, expressed optimism that the party would have a successful rally on Tuesday (today).
