The Senator representing Imo East Senatorial District in the senate, Ezenwa Francis Onyewuchi, has defected to the All Progressives Congress.
The decision of Onyewuchi, who won the 2023 election into the Senate on the platform of the Labour Party to defect to the APC was read on the floor of the Senate by Senate President Godswill Akpabio on Tuesday.
The lawmaker, after his defection, also declared support for President Bola Tinubu and Governor Hope Uzodinma.
He said his decision was taken after due consultation with his family, supporters, constituent members and conscience.
The Imo East Senator added that his decision is due to the division and crisis in the Labour Party.
