The Independent National Electoral Commission, has announced Alhaji Ibrahim Abdullahi as the new Resident Electoral Commissioner, in Yobe State.
Daily Post reported that, this announcement was contained in a press statement signed by the Head of Voter Education & Publicity Department of the Commission, Rifkatu Duku.
According to the statement, the new REC is “a veteran and seasoned administrator” who served in many federal agencies in the country.
Abdullahi, until his re-appointment and subsequent deployment to Yobe State, he was the immediate past INEC Resident Electoral Commissioner of Bauchi State.
The Commission expressed optimism that his wealth of experience in the service to his fatherland will in no small measure add value to ensure free, fair, credible and all-inclusive elections in Yobe State.
“We wish him a successful stay and pray for a cordial relationship with all stakeholders”, the statement added.
