On the occasion of Democracy Day and the 25th anniversary of uninterrupted democracy, the Allied Conservative Congress has urged Nigerians to remain resilient in the face of economic challenges.
The political movement acknowledged June 12 as a significant milestone, showcasing Nigerians’ unwavering faith in democracy and their determination to consolidate and strengthen it.
The movement encouraged Nigerians to draw inspiration from the country’s democratic journey and work together towards a brighter future, despite current difficulties, according to Daily Post.
By staying united and committed to democratic principles, Nigerians can overcome adversity and build a more prosperous nation.
The party noted that June 12 is a testament to Nigerians’ faith in democracy and their resolve to consolidate, deepen, and strengthen it.
“ACC salutes Nigerians for their resilience in sustaining democratic ideals, ethics, and ethos despite the numerous challenges facing the nation due to inept leadership,” it said in a statement signed by Alhaji `, its National Secretary.
“Our confidence in constitutional rule is unshaken. We must make our democracy work for the good of the masses.
“The state of the nation is bad. Governments at all levels have abandoned their constitutional duties and allowed the ship of the nation to cruise on a perilous course of terrorism, economic stagnation, ethnic tensions, corruption, and clueless leadership.
“There is hunger in the land and confusion in governance. It is a trying period as the nation gropes in the dark.
It is in view of this that the Allied Conservative Congress was recently formed as a rallying platform for all democrats desirous to rescue Nigeria from its dangerous slide to anarchy and bloodshed by non-state actors, and rebuild the nation with a conservative ideology of integrity, morality, probity, equity, unity, security, and prosperity. This is our chance to make Nigeria great again and restore genuine democracy.
“ACC identifies with the masses in this difficult period of our nationhood and assures them of a brighter future. The movement urges Nigerians to be hopeful and prayerful as we collectively hold governments at all levels accountable.
