The Governor of Kaduna State, Mallam Nasir El-Rufai has mocked the supporters of the Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi.
Obi’s supporters had planned a ‘two million march’ campaign for the former Anambra governor in Kaduna for his presidency bid.
This is coming after a ‘one million march’ was orchestrated in Nasarawa State by his supporters on August 6, 2022.
However, El-Rufai took to his official Twitter handle to mock Obi’s supporters, stating he hopes they get “Two hundred persons”.
The governor further discredited the possibility of the march happening in the state, adding that even if they import supporters from the east, Obi will not garner that number of persons.
He wrote, “In Kaduna? Not Kaduna Twitter? –
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 I hope you get Two Hundred persons on the streets, including those ‘imports’ that can’t open their shops on Mondays, and came on the overnight bus last night!! I jus’ dey laff, wallahi tallahi!! – @KadunaResident”
In the same vein, the Social Media aide to the President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), Lauretta Onochie, reacted to the tweet by saying that Obi’s supporters meant Online Kaduna.
Ridiculing the march, she said “Even mad people have moments of sanity. They dont mean Kaduna, they mean e-Kaduna. Online Kaduna.”
Premium Politics recalls that Obi and his party have been mocked for not having the structures to win the number one seat in the federation.
The Peoples Democratic Party Presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, had also said in an interview with newsmen that it will take a miracle for Obi, who was his running mate in the 2019 presidential election, to win the election.
However, the former Anambra governor responded that the everyday Nigerian workers are his structures, adding that his political career has been a miracle and he believes he will, by miracle, win the 2023 presidential election.
