The Kaduna State Security Council has announced a movement by restriction across the state from 6am to 7pm on Saturday, October 19, 2024, due to the upcoming local government elections.
The restriction aims to ensure a peaceful and orderly conduct of the elections, which will fill 255 ward councillor positions and 23 local government council chairmanship,
According to the state government, the restriction applies to vehicular movement, commercial activities, and other operations that may impede law and order. However, individuals performing essential duties are exempt, provided they carry proper identification and clearance.
Security agencies have been deployed to enforce compliance, and residents are urged to report any threats to law and order. The Kaduna State Security Operations Room can be contacted at 09034000060 and 08170189999 for concerns or incidents.
Residents are advised to refrain from actions that could disrupt public peace or affect the smooth conduct of the elections. The state government seeks to ensure a successful and secure electoral process.
