The Governorship Election Petition Tribunal sitting in Birnin Kebbi, Kebbi State Capital, has affirmed the victory of Governor Nasir Idris in the March 18 Governorship election in the State.
The tribunal on Thursday, October 5, 2023, affirmed the declaration of the Independent National Electoral Commission, which declared Idris the winner of the election.
It would be recalled that Idris of the All Progressives Congress, was announced the winner of the election, after satisfying the requirements of electoral law, in the election.
Meanwhile, gov Idris’s opponent from the Peoples Democratic Party, General Aminu Bande (rtd), filed a petition before the tribunal, challenging the victory of Idris in the election.
However, the tribunal chaired by Justice Ofem I. Ofem on Thursday gave the judgement.
The Court insisted that Governor Idris of the APC, remain the true winner of the election, as earlier declared by the electoral umpire.
