Former Minister of State for Labour and Employment, Festus Keyamo, has congratulated the ministerial nominees of President Bola Tinubu.
The ministerial list had been much awaited since the inauguration of Tinubu on May 29.
According to the 1999 constitution, the President is expected to submit his ministerial nominees to the Senate within 60 days. Friday, July 28, marked the 60th day and deadline for the list to be submitted.
The Chief of Staff to the President, Femi Gbajabiamila, on Thursday, presented the president’s ministerial nominee list before the Senate for screening and confirmation.
Akpabio thereafter read the ministerial list with 28 nominees.
However, Keyamo, who was part of the Tinubu/Shettima Presidential Campaign Council, was missing from the list.
The former Minister has been know to defend the decisions of the Tinubu administration online, and was therefore, mocked by tweeps, with his name missing on the ministerial list submitted.
Amidst the exclusion from the list of nominees, the All Progressives Congress chieftain said those nominated deserve it.
He tweeted, “Huge congratulations to all the ministerial nominees by the President @officialABAT; very well deserved”
Some of the reactions to Keyamo’s missing name on the list of ministerial nominees include:
A funny reaction from @General_Oluchi sounded like a solidarity for Keyamo, she wrote: “Is there another Ministerial list coming with Festus Keyamo’s name on it? If this is the last of it then I should start protesting on his behalf. Meet me at roundabout tomorrow morning, 9 am sharp!
“I can’t sit here and bear witness to such disrespect to the European Union Fake News Winner of 2023. Tinubu owes Keyamo everything!”
Responding to @General_Oluchi, @Ugoo_Agbams wrote, “Make una wait o. After screening, some will be dropped from the list, and a supplementary list will be released to cover the lapses. Na there Keyamo will be. He is on bench.”
@Morris_Monye said Keyamo was irrelevant to the All Progressive Congress, otherwise, he would have been included on the list, his tweet read, “Even APC rates Orubebe over Keyamo.
“If I’m Keyamo, I will resign from the party and face my law profession.
“If you were indeed useful to the party, they will feel your absence and expertise.”
@TENIBEGILOJU202 said APC sacrificed Keyamo and Fani-Kayode for the men, referring to the former as boys, he wrote, “BOYS AV BEEN SEPARATED FROM MEN! Despite their overzealousness and curiosity, they lost out from both ends. Keyamo was dreaming of becoming d attorney general while FFK was dreaming of becoming minister of aviation but they av been sacrificed 4 those who knew how to rig elections.”
@LindaAjayi3 asked Nigerians to await a supplementary list, as that is where Keyamo’s name would be. He wrote, “This one na merit list, VP and supplementary list they come😒🤣🤣🤣. Plus Who will Mann Twitter for Apc if he is distracted with ministry 😩😩”
