The People’s Democratic Party, Lagos State chapter, has commiserated with the Deputy Governorship candidate of the party for the forthcoming coming gubernatorial election in the State, Ms. Olufunke Akindele on the passage of her mother, Dr Adebanjo Akindele who died at wee hours of Tuesday.
A statement issued by the Spokesperson of the party in Lagos State, who doubles as the chairman, Media and Publicity, JandorFunke 2023 Campaign, Hon. Hakeem Amode, noted that the party received the news with “heavy heart and total submission to the will of God.”
The message, which described late Akindele as a desciplinarian, noted that her motherhood influence, reflects on all her children which saw the party’s deputy governorship candidate as a successful entertainer and politician of note, in our generation.
Late Akindele was described as a woman, who lived an exemplary life, which is worthy of emulation by every woman, who wants to affect her generation, positively.
The party said, “we are sure her legacy and her works will continue to keep her alive, in the mind of those that are her relations and those she had affect positively.”
“On behalf of the leadership of our party, the gubernatorial candidate of our party, Dr. Abdul-Azeez Olajide Adeniran – Jandor, the party Executives and entire members of Peoples Democratic Party in the State, we express our deepest heartfelt condolences to our Deputy Gubernatorial Candidate, Barr. Olufunke Akindele and the entire members of Akindele family.” The party said
