Governor Peter Mbah of Enugu State has urged voters to support the Peoples Democratic Party in the upcoming Council Chairmanship and Councillorship polls on September 21.
Speaking at the grand finale of the PDP campaign, Mbah emphasized the party’s commitment to development, citing over 1,000 ongoing projects across the state, with at least N1 billion invested in each of the 260 wards.
Mbah stated, “When we say power to the people in PDP, we understand where power belongs. You entrusted your mandate to those who will hit the ground running. We are currently executing over 1,000 projects in our state. What that means is that you have not entrusted your future to people who will use it for trial and error.”
He highlighted the party’s focus on education and healthcare, saying, “We are building 260 Smart Green Schools and 260 Type 2 Primary Healthcare Centres. It’s not just about brick and mortar; it’s about ensuring every child has access to quality learning, robotics, mechatronics, augmented realities, artificial intelligence, virtual reality, and computer-generated images.”
Mbah emphasized the importance of consolidating the party’s development strides, saying, “We need men and women of integrity and competence to deliver. You must all come out en masse, take nothing for granted, and cast your votes.”
The Chairman of the PDP in Enugu State, Dr. Martin Chukwunweike, noted that the party’s extensive campaigning in all LGAs and wards contrasts with the opposition’s lack of visibility. “If you do not campaign, how do you hope to win? It’s a walkover,” he said.
Other party leaders, including Hon. Uchenna Ugwu and Senator Osita Ngwu, praised Governor Mbah’s numerous projects, saying they have secured victory for the party. Hon. Obioara Obeagu, the party’s chairmanship flagbearer in Isi-Uzo LGA, echoed this sentiment, stating that the governor’s projects have eliminated opposition.
