Major companies and investors in India have expressed strong interest in expanding their businesses to Nasarawa State during a three-day working visit by Governor Abdullahi Sule.
The visit aims to attract foreign investment and foster development in various sectors of the state.
This initiative was highlighted in a statement issued on Sunday by the Chief Press Secretary to the Nasarawa State governor, Ibrahim Addra. The statement detailed Governor Sule’s engagements in Mumbai, emphasizing his efforts to secure significant investments.
Shortly after his arrival in Mumbai, Governor Sule met with representatives from Rites Limited, a global leader in infrastructure development, transport, and manufacturing, as well as a consortium of investors. “On the cards for discussion between Governor Sule and officials of the company is the planned Keffi-Abuja Rail System, which is an important project with great potentials that the governor’s administration is serious about,” the statement read.
Governor Sule’s visit is part of his administration’s broader efforts to mechanize agricultural practices in Nasarawa State and support President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s food security initiatives. “Abdullahi Sule is in Mumbai on the invitation of a company that specialises in tractor and agricultural production,” the statement noted.
The governor’s agenda includes discussions on acquiring more tractors for farmers, developing silos to reduce post-harvest losses, and procuring harvesters. “We are eager to quickly mechanise and deploy technology in our agricultural practices. We want to boost food production and complement the efforts of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s initiatives,” the statement said.
In another significant meeting, Governor Sule addressed investors, diplomats, and business leaders, sharing his vision for Nasarawa State and emphasizing the state’s conducive business environment. “Areas of interest that came up for discussion include: Pharmaceuticals, Oil and Gas, Textile, Education, Infrastructure, Health and Agriculture in Nasarawa State and the country at large,” the statement concluded.
