Former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar, has come under fire after reports that his West African Examination Certificate has Sadiq Abubakar and not Atiku Abubakar as he is widely known.
Trouble started when one of his political aides, Mr Dele Momodu, claimed on his X handle that some All Progressives Congress ‘busybodies’ have bombarded him with allegations of forgery by Atiku over the WAEC certificate.
Momodu, who is a veteran journalist and Publisher of Ovation Magazine, claimed he forwarded the allegations to Atiku immediately, to which he said, the former vice president responded swiftly.
“The APC busybodies have been bombarding me with allegations of forgery against my principal, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar (GCON) which I immediately forwarded to him and here is his copious response: “Yes I used Sadiq Abubakar to sit for my WAEC and after passing my exams I went to swear an affidavit to say I am the same person as ATIKU Abubakar.
“I went to ABU as Atiku Abubakar and passed my Exams as Atiku Abubakar. Interviewed as Atiku Abubakar by the Federal Civil Service Commission and hired into the Customs Service as Atiku Abubakar. So where is forgery there?” – ATIKU ABUBAKAR,” Momodu tweeted.
He added “Can the APC social media bullies forward the deluge of questions in circulation to their boss and get instant and direct response…I salute Alhaji Atiku Abubakar…”
Meanwhile, Nigerians on social media have begun knocking the former vice president who had earlier dragged President Bola Tinubu to court over alleged certificate forgery.
