The law maker, representing Surulere II federal constituency, in the national house of representatives, who is also the Speaker of the house, Honourable Femi Gbajabiamila has won his reelection back to the house for the sixth time.
Gbajabiamila, who is a sixth time lawmaker representing the constituency since 2003, won the election with 19, 717 votes, against other contenders; Peoples Democratic Party candidate, Jeje, who Polled 5, 121 votes, Mathew Idowu of Social Democratic Party 838 votes, Benedicta Uba of Zenith Labour Party 660 votes.
The INEC returning officer, Virgy Ebere Chukwu Onyene, declared that Gbajabiamila of the All Progressives Congress had satisfied the requirements of the law and scored the highest number of votes thereby declaring him the winner of the election.
However, Gbajabiamila who is returning to the floor of the house for sixth time, became the speaker of the house in 2019, after the tenure of Yakubu Dogara expired.
