Nigerian-America congressman, Oye Owolewa, has reportedly won his reelection in the just concluded midterm elections in the United States.
He is the first Nigerian-American to be elected into Federal office in the history of the US.
The PhD holder from the Northeastern University, Boston scored a total of 120,919 which represents 84.6% to win his closest challenger, Joyce Robinson-Paul who recorded 22,087 votes.
He joins other Nigerian – Americans who their respective elections.
In Georgia State, Segun Adeyina, Gabe Okoye, Solomon Adesanya, Tish Naghise, and Phil Olaleye won their legislative seats as State Representatives in their Districts.
Owolewa is from Kwara, and he holds a doctor of philosophy degree in Pharmacy from the Northeastern University, Boston.
He was first elected as a congressman November 2, 2020.
