Prominent Niger Delta leader and former agitator, Mujahid Asari Dokubo, on Friday, has alleged that the Nigerian military are behind majority of the oil theft cases in the country.
He stated this on Friday after his meeting with President Bola Tinubu at the State House in Abuja.
“The military is at the centre of oil theft and we have to make this very clear to the Nigerian public that 99 per cent of oil theft can be traced to the Nigerian military, the Army and the Navy especially.
According to him, the President has pledged to look into reports of massive oil bunkering by infamous navy commanders who are kingpins, and to take immediate action to put an end to the heinous practise.
Dokubo continued by saying that Abuja is home to powerful cabals, but that they have now met their match and that a massive uprising is imminent in Kuje.
The former agitator also said he had assured the new administration of his support to ensure “zero” oil theft in the Niger Delta.
He said “Myself and my brothers have assured the President that there will be zero oil theft and vandalization in the Niger Delta.
“We’re going to walk with an NPPCL and the IOCs to make sure that oil tapped is brought to zero.”
