An activist, Deji Adeyanju, has insisted that former President Muhammadu Buhari is a dictator.
The activist, on Wednesday, said surviving the Muhammadu Buhari administration was tough because the ex-President was a tyrant.
He went on X to react to Femi Adesina’s claim that the former president attempted to eliminate Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra.
Recall that in his book, ‘Working with Buhari: Reflections of a Special Adviser, Media and Publicity (2015-2023)’, Adesina said Buhari opted for Kanu’s arrest while some government officials opted for his elimination.
Adeyanju recounted how he was arrested 11 times during Buhari’s administration.
Taking to X, Adeyanju wrote: “So Buhari contemplated killing Nnamdi Kanu? We will know how many times they tried to kill some of us one day before sending us to prison several times.
“But Buhari got me arrested 11 times during his 8 years term. They opened fire at us when I led a protest to DSS headquarters at Unity Fountain several times as well. Attacked me at Human Rights Commission, etc. History will always vindicate the just. Buhari the dictator is gone.
“It was not easy surviving Tyrant Buhari regime. On many occasions, we were almost killed at protest venues but many #EndSARS protestors were not so lucky. It was just God that saved some of us from losing our lives. We will never allow cretins like Adesina to rewrite history.”
