The former governor of Anambra State and the Labour Party’s presidential candidate in the 2023 elections, Peter Obi, has contributed N10 million to the Mater Misericordiae College of Nursing Sciences in Afikpo, Ebonyi State.
The donation, announced by Obi through a social media post, underscores his commitment to supporting education, healthcare, and empowerment as essential pillars of societal development.
Obi acknowledged the institution’s long-standing tradition of training healthcare professionals since its founding in 1946.
In his address to the students, he highlighted the growing global demand for medical practitioners and urged them to stay focused on their academic pursuits.
The former governor also extended praise to the college’s staff for their unwavering dedication and recognized the Ebonyi State Government’s role in advancing healthcare education.
