All Progressive Congress Kogi Governorship candidate, Usman Ododo has taken the oath of office as Kogi Governor following his November 11 victory.
According to The Nation, Ododo took the oath of office at around 2:24 pm in Lokoja on Saturday.
His inauguration came just minutes after Salifu Joel Oyibo took his oath of office as the deputy governor of Kogi State.
With his swearing-in, Ododo becomes the 5th Executive Governor of Kogi state.
Some of the dignitaries present at the event include Vice President Kashim Shettima; APC National Chairman, Abdullahi Ganduje and immediate past Kogi Governor Yahaya Bello among others.
Usman Ododo, candidate of the All Progressives Congress was declared the winner of the Kogi state governorship election by INEC last year.
Ododo polled 446, 237 votes to defeat Murtala Ajaka of the Social Democratic Party, who came second with 259,052 votes. Dino Melaye, candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party scored 46,362 votes.
Johnson Urama, the Independent National Electoral Commission returning officer for Kogi, announced Ododo as the winner at 10:23 p.m. on Sunday.
Ododo, a former auditor general of local government in Kogi under Yahaya Bello, was anointed by the governor who is finishing his two-term of eight.
