Governor Ahmed Ododo of Kogi State has pledged to utilize all available resources to apprehend those responsible for the recent killings in Ogbe and to ensure the area’s security.
Reports indicate that bandits fatally shot two individuals on Friday in the Ogbe community, located in the Yagba West Local Government Area of the state.
In representation of the governor, the Commissioner for Information and Communications, Kingsley Fanwo, paid a visit to the affected community on Sunday.
He expressed condolences to the residents for the heinous act and assured them that the government would spare no effort in bringing the perpetrators to justice and restoring security in the region.
Governor Ododo emphasized that the state possesses the necessary capabilities to combat criminal activities and eradicate terrorism across its territories.
He encouraged the community to trust in his administration’s dedication to eliminating insecurity, both locally and statewide. However, he cautioned against taking matters into their own hands and initiating retaliatory actions, reiterating the government’s resolve to pursue the culprits through legal channels.
“President Bola Tinubu, in collaboration with the Armed Forces and security agencies, is extending full support to Kogi State to launch a comprehensive offensive against criminal elements,” Ododo stated confidently.
“Rest assured, Kogi will continue to rank among the safest states in the nation.”
