The All Progressives Congress governorship candidate in Delta State, Sen. Ovie Omo-Agege, has stated that the incumbent governor of the State, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, betrayed the move for a southern presidency.
According to Daily Post, the Deputy Senate President stated this after a meeting with the President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), at the State House, Abuja.
He asserted that it is only just and fair that Buhari’s successor is from the South.
Omo-Agege recalled that the governor was one of the region’s leaders who spearheaded the effort and that they had meetings in Asaba and Lagos.
“Okowa betrayed that course by selling away our right, and instead going for Vice President when the country is offering us the presidency.
”So our people are not taking this treachery kindly and are determined that they will punish him,” he added
