Edo State Governor, Monday Okpebholo, has assured Ondo State governor-elect, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, that his administration will work closely with him to ensure the prosperity of both states.
Following Aiyedatiwa’s victory in the November 16, 2024 governorship election, Okpebholo expressed confidence that the outcome would bring positive developments to Ondo and foster stronger ties between the two neighboring states.
In a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Fred Itua, on Sunday in Benin City, Governor Okpebholo praised the people of Ondo State for their support of Aiyedatiwa and his candidacy under the All Progressives Congress.
He emphasized the importance of collaboration between Edo and Ondo, noting that their shared interests will drive progress in both states, according to Daily Post.
Okpebholo expressed optimism that Aiyedatiwa would deliver good governance and bring lasting prosperity to Ondo State.
He also extended his prayers for divine wisdom to guide the Ondo governor as he embarks on his four-year mandate, assuring that both states will benefit from their collective efforts.
“I celebrate my friend and brother, Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa of Ondo State, for emerging victorious in last Saturday’s governorship election.
“His victory is a good omen, and I am certain that we will work closely together to bring peace and development to our dear States as good neighbours.
“I also want to appreciate the people of Ondo State for voting for Governor Aiyedatiwa. I am certain that he will do well and bring more prosperity to the people of the State and Nigeria in general,” Okpebholo said.
