The Chairman of the All Progressives Congress in Ondo State, Ade Adetimehin, has promised to ensure that the crisis within the party will be resolved and that all concerned members adhere to commitments made.
This was made known in a statement issued by the Special Adviser to the President on Media & Publicity, Chief Ajuri Ngelale on Saturday.
Ngelale Noted in the statement that, Adetimehin’s decision means that Governor Akeredolu remains the governor of the state, while Aiyedatiwa remains the deputy governor, and members of the State Executive Council continue their respective duties, even as the leadership of the State’s House of Assembly and the APC Chapter in Ondo State maintain status quo.
The APC Chairman in his statement, noted that President Tinubu’s intervention had restored sanity to the political instability that had bedevilled the state in the past few months.
While thanking the President for his timely intervention, Adetimehin expressed delight at the outcome of the deliberations, affirming that the party will remain a watchdog to ensure that the new commitments are adhered to.
“Today is my happiest moment. And I know sanity has come to Ondo State. So, on behalf of the teeming supporters of our party in the state, we appreciate our leader, Mr. President.
“PDP has crumbled in the state; virtually, they decamp every day. The only problem we have is the one you have solved for us today. And that problem has been resolved permanently,” the chairman said.
Premium Politics in its earlier report, noted that the state Deputy Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, pledged to carry all commissioners and officials along in handling the state’s affairs.
Aiyedatiwa made the vow while responding during the negotiation meeting between President Bola Tinubu, himself, representatives of Governor Akeredolu, federal and state lawmakers of Ondo state, officials of the All Progressives Congress, among others, at the state house Abuja, on Friday night.
However, the Speaker of the state House of Assembly, Hon. Oladiji Olamide, also resolved to halt all impeachment moves against Aiyedatiwa.
Similarly, the Secretary to the State Government, Princess Oladunni Odu, expressed gratitude to President Tinubu for restoring peace to Ondo state.
Odu however promised that all concerned individuals would remain peaceful and stand united as a party in the state.
“Our Father, the President, has taken the trouble to settle our rancour in Ondo State.
“We owe you all the gratitude, Sir. We will not disappoint you. We have taken every word you said. And we are going home as one united family under the party, APC”, she said.
