The Department of State Services has apprehended a man suspected of engaging in vote buying in Akure, Ondo State.
The arrest occurred on Saturday, November 16, at Ward 4, Polling Unit 007, located near St. Stephen’s Primary School, during the ongoing election.
According to a video shared on Channels TV’s X handle, DSS operatives were seen taking the man, whose identity has not been disclosed, into custody.
The suspect was found with two large bags, which were reportedly filled with cash. This money is believed to have been intended for voter inducement.
As of press time, the DSS has not provided any additional details regarding the arrest or the ongoing investigation.
