Ondo State Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, has declared that the All Progressives Congress has gained significant ground ahead of the November 16 governorship election.
Aiyedatiwa, the APC candidate, on Wednesday claimed that key members of the Peoples Democratic Party have defected to the APC, weakening the opposition.
He confidently stated that the PDP’s umbrella has been torn into shreds, according to Daily Post.
The governor made this assertion during his campaign tour to Ese Odo Local Government Area, where he addressed a large crowd of supporters in Igbobini.
Aiyedatiwa’s statement suggests that the APC has gained momentum, but the PDP remains a formidable opponent.
The election’s outcome will depend on various factors, including voter turnout and party mobilization.
The governor’s campaign focuses on showcasing the APC’s achievements and convincing voters to reject the PDP.
With both parties intensifying their campaigns, the election is shaping up to be a keenly contested battle.
“We have torn the umbrella of the main opposition party into shreds. In this coming election, your vote must be for the APC,” he said.
