The body of late Isaac Omodewu, Chairman of the All Progressives Congress in Oyo State, is expected to arrive in Nigeria on Thursday, September 12, 2024, from the United States, where he passed away on August 18, 2024.
According to the party’s Publicity Secretary, Wale Sadare, “The body of our chairman will leave the USA on 11th September and arrive in Nigeria on Thursday, 12th September. A Christian wake will be held in Ibadan on that Thursday, followed by a church service and burial in his hometown, Otu, in Itesiwaju Local Government Area, on Friday, 13th September.”
Regarding the future leadership of the Oyo APC, Sadare stated that the decision on whether Omodewu’s deputy, Olayide Abas, would be sworn in as the new chairman would be postponed until after the funeral.
“We have not acted on it. We will address the matter after the burial. We have put it on hold for now, as we want to pay our last respects to our chairman,” Sadare explained.
