A member of the House of Representatives in Oyo State, Prince Olaide Akinremi, has died.
Akinremi represented the Ibadan North Federal Constituency and was the chairman of the House Committee on Science Research Institutes.
His death was announced on social media by Akin Akinwale, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress.
Before his passing, Akinremi had expressed his gratitude to Almighty Allah for the gift of life and the opportunity to welcome the Islamic new year, Hijrah 1446 AH.
In his last post, the demised encouraged his constituents and Muslims worldwide to adhere to Islamic tenets and strive to become better versions of themselves, doing good always.
He wished everyone happiness, peace, and Allah’s blessings in the new year.
Akinremi’s contributions to the House of Representatives and his community will be deeply missed. May he rest in peace.
His last post on X, dated July 7, read: ”I join all Muslim Ummah in Ibadan North Federal Constituency and across the globe in welcoming the Islamic new year Hijrah 1446 AH.
”The gift of life and the grace of passing through days, months and years remains an important reason for us to always appreciate Almighty Allah.
”More so, in this new Islamic year and always, it remains vital for us to continue on the path of adherence to Islamic tenets and ways of life. We should strive to become better versions of ourselves, doing good always.
”May the year ahead be filled with happiness, peace and Almighty Allah’s blessings, Ameen.”
