As the cold war between the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Abdullahi Ganduje and his former boss, Engr. Rabiu Kwankwanso, the 2023 Presidential candidate of the New Nigeria People’s Party, continues, the APC Chairman has taken another swipe at Kwankwanso.
Ganduje who claimed Kwankwaso became an accidental presidential candidate in 2023, accused him of turning the party into a revenue platform after his failed presidential aspiration.
The immediate former governor of Kano state, who didn’t make a direct reference to the name of his predecessor, while mocking him on Thursday when he hosted some other opposition presidential candidates who had come begging for inclusion in the administration of President Bola Tinubu, said enough for everyone to know who he was referring to.
“Thank you for this visit. I will convey your views and requests. And I will ensure that you see Mr. President eye to eye. I thank you for being faithful to your respective parties.
“What I am seeing is one political aspirant, who became a presidential candidate by accident. Who became a presidential candidate by hijacking another party because he was partyless.
“He could give an account according to INEC that cannot qualify it to be a political party. He decided to hijack a political party. And since, he could not realize his aspirations he decided to make that party a revenue platform rather than a political party.
“He has now decided to expel the founder. God forbid, he will not succeed. I salute you presidential candidates for being good ambassadors of your political parties, not destroyers.
“And not turning your political parties as a source of revenue. Since you cannot get the presidential tickets, you will get pocket tickets. I thank you. No doubt we will include you in the three states that we are having elections come November this year,” Ganduje said.
