The Peoples Democratic Party has congratulated its Governorship candidate in Nasarawa State in the 2023 election, David Ombugadu, over his victory at the Governorship Election Petition Tribunal in the State.
The PDP which described the tribunal judgement as an “unfaultable verdict,” said it is a victory for democracy and the triumph of the will of the people.
The state Governorship Election Petition Tribunal had on Monday, nullified the victory of Governor Abdullahi Sule of the All Progressives Congress, who had earlier been declared as the winner of the March 18 election in the state.
The three-man panel of justices led by Justice Ezekiel Ajayi, while delivering the judgement via Zoom, said Emmanuel Ombudagu was the winner of the election.
While two of the Justices agreed that the election was won by the PDP candidate, one judge dissented.
