The Peoples Democratic Party governorship candidate, Dauda Lawan Dare, has defeated the incumbent governor of the state, Bello Matawalle, to emerge the governor-elect.
According to The PUNCH, Dare, who has been declared winner of the contest by the Independent National Electoral Commission polled 377,726 votes, while Matawalle of the All Progressives Congress who polled 311,976.
