The Presidential candidate of the Labour Party in the last presidential election in Nigeria, Peter Obi commiserated with the family of Adefarasin, on the burial of their late mother, Mrs Hilda Adefarasin (nee Petgrave).
Mr Obi, who contested the last presidential election alongside his major contenders, Bola Tinubu of the All progressives Congress and Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party, came third in the contest.
Meanwhile, the candidate of the APC, Bola Tinubu won the election and was declared the President-elect on March 1, 2023, after polling a score of 8,794,726 votes.
Meanwhile, Atiku and Obi Polled 6,984,520 votes and 6,101,533 votes, respectfully.
Mr Obi, who commiserated with Adefarasin family, through his Twitter handle today, twitted, “I continue to condole with the Adefarasin family, especially Pastor Wale, Pastor Paul and their entire family, as they bury their beloved mother, Mrs Hilda Adefarasin, today.
“Indeed, she will be sadly missed for her central role as a mother in the family and in the Church. Nevertheless, her funeral rites are a celebration of a life well lived, and her family should be consoled by her rich legacy of contributions to womenfolk and to humanity,
“which are worthy of emulation. In recognition of women’s capacity to make fundamental contributions to society, I remain committed to 40% Affirmative Action for women in political appointments and will encourage the same in the Corporate world.
