The presidential candidate of the Labour Party in Nigeria’s 2023 elections, Peter Obi, has extended his congratulations to Keir Starmer and the Labour Party on their landslide victory in the UK election.
Obi, who had previously declared his support for the Labour Party, expressed his hope that the victory will usher in a new chapter for the UK and strengthen ties between the UK and Nigeria.
In a statement on X, Obi said: “I sincerely congratulate @Keir_Starmer and the Labour Party UK on their landslide victory. May it translate to a better chapter for all UK residents as you remain committed to your electoral promises.”
Obi also expressed his desire for the UK to support Nigeria in addressing its challenges, including insecurity, education, healthcare, and poverty.
He concluded by wishing Starmer a successful tenure and looking forward to building a brighter future for the commonwealth.
