The former Lagos governor, who was inaugurated as the 13th elected President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, on the 29th of May, 2023, has since been having important consultations with key players that constitute the economy, since his inception to the office.
He had earlier on the day of his inauguration, deregulated the oil sector with the removal of the petroleum subsidy, which has always become a source of corruption for the top government officials, who make huge amounts of money from it, at the expense of the masses.
However, the president explained that the thing called fuel subsidy, which has no provision in the constitution, can no longer exist, because is not sustainable for the government. because of the bogus amount of money spent on it every financial year, which has caused the country to be backward in providing social and infrastructural amenities.
