President Bola Tinubu welcomed former United Kingdom Prime Minister Tony Blair at the State House in Abuja on Tuesday.
The meeting followed Tinubu’s return from an official trip to Lagos, where he initiated a significant infrastructure project.
Earlier in Lagos, President Tinubu had inaugurated the construction of the Lagos-Calabar coastal highway, a vital infrastructure project that had commenced in March. This highway is expected to bolster economic activities and connectivity between the coastal regions of Nigeria.
Tony Blair’s visit to Abuja was promptly arranged following Tinubu’s arrival from Lagos. The discussions between Tinubu and Blair involved several high-ranking officials from the Nigerian government. Present at the meeting were Femi Gbajabiamila, the Chief of Staff to the President; Yusuf Tuggar, the Minister of Foreign Affairs; Mohammed Idris, the Minister of Information and National Orientation; and Hadiza Bala Usman, the Special Adviser to the President on Policy Coordination.
