Thousands of Katsina residents gathered at the Arabic Teachers College playground on Tuesday for a special prayer session, seeking God’s intervention to end hunger, insecurity, and other challenges facing Nigeria.
The prayer session, held amidst tight security, featured the ‘Al-Qunut prayer’, a supplication offered during prayer to address calamities affecting the community, according Peoples Gazette.
Similar prayer sessions were held at Filin Samji, Filin Yammawa, and Filin Canada football grounds in Katsina metropolis.
Residents expressed that they turned to prayer as a last resort to address the country’s challenges, including hunger and insecurity.
The prayer session comes ahead of a planned nationwide prayer event scheduled for Saturday, organized by the #EndBadGovernance protest group, seeking divine intervention across mosques and churches.
