Former aide to former President Goodluck Jonathan, Reno Omokri, has reacted to a photo of former Kano State Governor, Abdullahi Ganduje, kneeling to greet the immediate past president, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.).
The photo, which is currently trending on social media, captured a significant gesture by Ganduje showing respect and humility towards Buhari.
In a post via his Instagram page, Omokri referenced those who made derogatory comments when the current Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Oyebanji, prostrated to greet Nigerian Lawyer, Afe Babalola.
According to the political activist, without a culture of respect, political power will be a mirage.
He wrote, “Where are those who made snide remarks when Governor Oyebanji prostrated to Chief Afe Babalola Without a culture of respect, political power will be a mirage.”
Earlier in July, during the birthday of a Senior Advocate of Nigeria, Aare Afe Babalola, Oyebanji visited the Elder state’s man prostrating flat before him.
This action was met with mixed reactions from across the country: while some commended the latter for his traditional courtesy, some criticized him for acting up and being overly respectful, especially, being an executive governor.
