The chairman of the All Progressives Congress Caretaker Committee in Rivers State, Chief Tony Okocha, has vehemently denied reports that he congratulated Governor Siminalayi Fubara on his one-year anniversary in office.
Okocha addressed journalists in Port Harcourt on Tuesday, describing the reports as “malicious” and aimed at tarnishing his reputation.
He stated that it is impossible for him to praise a government he believes is struggling, likening it to an “ICU” patient, according to Daily Post.
The APC chairman also criticized Governor Fubara’s administration, scoring its performance as “zero” and labeling it a “sham” for operating without a budget.
Okocha’s statement clarifies his stance and reinforces the party’s position on the state government’s performance.
The APC chairman stated that the report was targeted at maligning his character and projecting him as “one who speaks from both sides of his mouth.”
