Former Senate President, Bukola Saraki, has mourned the passing of a great Nollywood actor, Dejumo Lewis.
Saraki in a post on his official X handle on Saturday, said the world has lost a masterful thespian.
According to him, the late Lewis brought to life, the role of ‘Kabiesi, the Oloja of Oja Village’ in the drama series, ‘The Village Headmaster.
However, the former Kwara State Governor extended the deepest sympathies to the family, colleagues and fans of the late actor, whose passing was announced on Saturday, December 23, 2023.
Saraki wrote: “With the passing of Chief Dejumo Lewis, the art world has lost a masterful thespian.
“He brought to life the role of ‘Kabiyesi, the Oloja of Oja Village’ in the drama series, ‘The Village Headmaster’ with great skill, resonating deeply with a national audience and establishing him as a beloved figure and legend, in fact, one of the forebears of what is now known as Nollywood.
“As the nation mourns this gifted actor, I extend my deepest sympathies to his family, colleagues, and the multitude of fans who cherish his work.
“He will be dearly missed.”
