The Senate Committee on National Planning and Economic Affairs and Finance has screened Hon. Akeem Akintayo Amosun as Federal Commissioner from Ogun State for The Revenue Mobilisation Allocation and Fiscal Commission.
The screening, conducted on behalf of the Senate, was led by Committee Chairman Senator Yahaya Abdullahi, alongside notable senators including Orji Kalu, Seriake Dickson, Ned Nwoko, Osita Izunaso, and Augustine Akobundu, according to ThisDay.
The Senate had referred Amosun’s nomination to the committee in a letter dated September 25, 2025, for further action.
Amosun’s screening marks a significant step in the RMAFC’s composition, responsible for mobilizing revenue and allocating resources across Nigeria’s three tiers of government.
In a related development, a federal judge ordered the temporary forfeiture of properties and assets linked to a high-profile individual.
The properties include an industrial complex under construction in Agbor, Delta State, and luxury apartments in Ikoyi, Lagos.
Additionally, two share certificates of Queensdorf Global Fund Limited Trust were temporarily forfeited.
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has been directed to publish a forfeiture notice in a national newspaper within 14 days.
This allows interested parties to contest the forfeiture before a final decision is made.
