Vice President Kashim Shettima has addressed recent speculations about President Bola Tinubu’s health, emphasizing the President’s vision and leadership capabilities as central to the country’s future progress.
Shettima’s comments came during a town hall meeting organized by the Presidential Enabling Business Environment Council (PEBEC) at the State House in Abuja on Friday. This meeting followed public concerns regarding President Tinubu’s well-being, particularly after a momentary misstep at the Democracy Day celebrations last month.
Shettima acknowledged the anxiety surrounding President Tinubu’s health but clarified that effective leadership is not defined by physical strength but by mental sharpness and visionary thinking. He encouraged Nigerians to support President Tinubu, underscoring the importance of the President’s innovative ideas over mere physical prowess.
“We are not preparing for the Olympics, but building an institution that thrives on superior ideas,” Shettima asserted. “The hallmark of true leadership is not the ability to lift a bag of cement, but the capacity to come up with robust ideas to solve a nation’s problems.”
Additionally, the Vice President addressed the country’s current economic difficulties, asserting confidence in the Tinubu administration’s ability to foster positive change.
“We have never had it so good in terms of leadership. The President means well for the nation and is imbued with the skill set to drive change and progress in this country,” Shettima said.
Through these statements, Shettima reaffirmed his support for President Tinubu and his administration’s commitment to addressing Nigeria’s challenges and steering the country towards a prosperous future.
