Sokoto State governor-elect, Alhaji Ahmad Aliyu, in less than 48 hours of his victory at the governorship election revealed his blueprint in what he termed as “nine point agenda.”
Aliyu disclosed this during his first news conference on Monday in Sokoto.
According to PM News, the governor-elect vowed to uplift the standards of education, healthcare delivery and water supply.
Others include agriculture, security, youth empowerment, local government autonomy, religious affairs and economy.
He reiterated that his administration will listen to the yearnings and aspirations of the citizens to meet up the campaign promises.
He maintained that his victory is a clarion call for doing his best to reform the state as well as restore its lost glory.
He appreciated the contribution of electorates in the state to his success and urged opposition parties to support his government to bring the needed development to the state.
It could be recalled that on Saturday, he garnered 453,661 under the aegis of the All Progressives Congress to defeat his closest rival, Malam Sa’idu Umar of the Peoples Democratic Party with 404,632 votes.
