Sokoto State government has expressed plans to ensure continuous and regular inspection of all the ongoing projects under the state Ministry of Works and Transport in the state.
This was disclosed by the State Deputy Governor, Idris Mohammed Gobir while inspecting the ongoing rehabilitation of Kasuwar Daji road networks and Wajeke’s five hundred Housing units in Wamakko.
Gobir noted that the measure was aimed at ensuring that the projects are executed according to specifications by the Kaduna State Government.
While inspecting the Kasuwar Daji road network’s project, the Deputy Governor who oversees the Ministry of Works, expressed satisfaction with the construction of drainages and culverts being carried out in the area.
Gobir however expressed hope that the contractor would maintain the tempo up to the level of completion.
“A few days ago, Governor Ahmed Aliyu was at the site for an inspection visit.
“This has indicated the commitment of the current administration to ensure that all contracts awarded are executed based on the contract agreement
“I called on the company’s handling this project to complete the project within three months,” he said.
Also speaking during the inspection, the Site Engineer of the construction firm, Isah Dan’iya Argungu, said the work on the construction of drainages and levelling of the road is going smoothly.
Argungu however pledged the company’s determination to complete the project as scheduled.
The deputy also at the Wajeke Housing construction site, expressed satisfaction as some houses were at roofing and linter levels.
According to him, apart from houses, the project included the construction of mosques, schools, Hospitals, and police stations among others.
However, he called on all the contractors to intensify efforts toward the completion of the projects.
Among those who accompanied the Deputy Governor on the visit, was the permanent secretary of the ministry Alhaji Abdulkadir Ahmad and the Director, of Civic Engineering, Engineer Atiku Mohammed Shagari.
