Nasarawa State Governor, Abdullahi Sule, on Tuesday, presented a supplementary budget of N156.5 billion to the State House of Assembly for approval.
The presentation was made during a plenary session in Lafia, as announced by the Speaker of the House, Mr. Danladi Jatau.
The Governor’s supplementary budget proposal aims to enhance the delivery of critical services and infrastructure, providing the people of the state with essential dividends of democracy.
During the session, the Majority Leader, Mr. Suleiman Azara, moved a motion for the bill to undergo its first reading.
The motion was seconded by the Deputy Minority Leader, Mr. Onarigu Onah Kana. Following a brief deliberation, the Assembly read the bill and passed it unanimously through the first reading.
The State Assembly had earlier approved a N199.8 billion budget for the 2024 fiscal year in December 2023. If the supplementary budget is approved, it will increase the state’s total budget for 2024 to N356.5 billion.
