Tinubu: Group demands Buhari apologize for sacking Oshiomhole-led NWC
A group, Justice Advocacy Forum, has demanded former President Muhammadu Buhari to apologize for sacking members of the Comrade Adams Oshiomhole-led All Progressives Congress National Working Committee, who were compelled to leave office over their support for President Bola Tinubu.
JAF made the call on the immediate past president on Sunday, pointing out that it will help for proper healing of old wounds and in the interest of justice within the All Progressive Congress.
In a statement by its national coordinator, Mallam Abubakar Umar and Secretary, Mr. Rufus Ajani, the group hinted that President Tinubu needs to reward the few members of the APC NWC, who stoutly stood by him against ‘the cabal’ in a great hour of need when it was quite risky to do so, according to the Independent.
It maintained that the party’s former acting National Chairman, Chief Hillard Etta, who further helped tremendously in the 2023 presidential campaign team while also mobilizing his people in Cross River state for APC stands as an excellent example.
“It seems strange and uncharacteristic of President Bola Tinubu to have overlooked sadistic mockery, threats, harassments and intimidation faced by few principled elements of the then APC NWC, who suffered to risk all and suffered to make President Tinubu’s presidential ambition possible; it would definitely be praiseworthy and inspiring to see two or three of them being rewarded with visible political appointments,” the group stated.
It continued, “JAF is 100% APC, comprising staff, associates and supporters of the sacked Oshiomhole-led NWC and we have no option than to cry out now to President Bola Tinubu to reward the former party officers for their respective sacrifices with political appointments; the cabal virtually toyed with our party’s collective destiny, such that we had three acting National Chairmen within three days in June, 2020.
“To avoid bad spiritual karma, former President Buhari will do well to make apologies for manipulations and injustice against people, who were exercising their right to support their preferred candidate and this was most probably done on his behalf by entrenched anti-Tinubu forces in Buhari’s government one of the gravest ills plaguing the APC was the forceful sack of that NWC and the effect is still being felt in the party till date.”
