President Bola Tinubu has presented flags to the All Progressives Congress governorship candidates in the November elections in Bayelsa, Kogi and Imo States.
Tinubu, who is the national leader of the ruling party, presented the flags to the candidates inside the Council Chamber of the Presidential Villa in Abuja, on Thursday, November 2, 2023.
The president presented flags to Usman Ododo, who is a first-timer in the governorship race in Kogi State, Governor Hope Uzodimma of Imo State, who is seeking a second term in office, and former Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Timipre Sylva, who is seeking to return as Bayelsa governor.
Ododo will be contesting alongside the governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party in Kogi State, Dino Melaye and some other prominent candidates in the state, while Sylva may be facing a bit tough time in Bayelsa, facing the incumbent governor of the state, Douye Diri who is seeking a reelection for his second term in office.
Meanwhile, Governor Uzodimma may have a bit of an upper hand in Imo State, being the incumbent governor of the state, who may be favoured with the power of incumbency.
